About
WHAT IS THE IRCHM ?
The Irish Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (IRCHM) was founded in October 1999 to regulate the practice of Chinese Herbal Medicine in Ireland. It is the aim of the IRCHM to help provide a high standard of quality care to the public. The Register is established as a self-regulating body to ensure the professional training, ethical and clinical practice standards of its members
The Register is a constituent member of the National Council of Medical Herbalists (NCMH) which is an umbrella organization incorporating the different traditions in herbal medicine in Ireland. NCMH regulates the training and professional standards of it’s constituent member associations and has direct affiliations and contacts with herbal practitioner associations of all traditions throughout Europe. Also as a constituent member organisation of the European Traditional Chinese Medicine Association (ETCMA) the IRCHM and our members are part of a 10,000 strong European body of professional clinical practitioners.
